I found these Stranges in Highland Road Cemetery in Portsmouth. I thought that someone might have 'lost' them as they appear to have a Wilseden connection.

Phoebe STRANGE died April 1881 aged 50 years also
William her husband died 2 April 1889 aged 39 years interred at Wilsden Cemetery London.

Daisy STRANGE, granddaughter of the above, died 18 June 1890 aged 11 months.
William John Strange, son of the above, died September 19 1911? (year unclear) aged 37 years.

Southampton - Jesus Chapel, Peartree, ( St Mary extra )

Marriage:

Details from John Holmes <aberjed@yahoo.co.uk> May 2006 -  from marriage certificate for his great grandparents. Maybe she is the Caroline Elizabeth Strange birth registered Q4 1889 at Portsea Hants. She switched her christian names around when she married.

From: Roger Quaintance
My grand parents are a bit of a mystery to me  My grandfather Stanley Snocken came from "Bow" in London, my grandmother Kate Strange probably came from Portsmouth where Stanley settled, they had a large family all of which I have traced. Kate does not appear in the 1881 census. She was probably born around 1890. The 1901 census, when and IF it ever gets sorted out may hold some answers about Kate.

From Raymond Wakeham in July 2007
The name Strange first appears in my wife`s tree in 1824, when a Sarah Strange married a Charles Thornett, in Whitchurch, Hampshire. Sarah was born in Whitchurch in 1807, her father`s name was Daniel and her mother Martha, nee Smith. Daniel Strange married Martha Smith in Overton, Hampshire, in 1802. Daniel Strange first appeared when he married a Sarah Stagg in Tufton, Hampshire in 1795. In the Marriage Register he was shown as Daniel Strange of Bossington, which is in Hampshire. There were three children of the marriage and when widowed, Daniel married Martha Smith. Daniel died in 1818 in Whitchurch, where the Register shows his age at death as 60, putting his year of birth as approximately 1758. Unfortunately this is where our trail ends, despite an exhaustive search of the Hampshire Registers, including Bossington. We have also searched in the name of David Strange, as some of the Census records show  him as David. Although this may merely be a mistake.
