1066 - Had one of the few markets in Bedfordshire

1397 - James Quarrer went to London to work as a pewterer and did well enough to buy his freedom

1646 - Sir Samuel Browne, a London judge, bought Arlesey manor

1668 - Memorial tablet in the church to Sir Samuel Browne

1852 - Large brickworks opened in the south of the parish

1857 - Psychiatric hospital sited between Arlesey and Stotfold (called Fairfield, now demolished)
