Dean Notes

1501 - Rector Thomas PARKER died and is commemorated on a brass on the alter tomb in the south chapel.

1620 - The mill is sold for  "five shillings of good and lawful money", once a very fine post mill.

1702 - Joseph NEALE endowed a school for boys with the rector as master.  At first the boys were taught in the church's south chapel and later in a little lattice-windowed building which later was a hatrdware shop but was then converted to a cottage outhouse.
